a.s.ist Inc. (hereinafter, "the Company") establishes the following Privacy Policy (the "Policy") regarding users' personal information.

This English translation is provided for convenience only. The Japanese version is the authoritative text and shall prevail in the event of any discrepancy. Please refer to the Japanese version.

2. Personal Information Collected

When a user registers to use our services, we collect personally identifiable information such as name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, and credit card number. When a user submits an inquiry through our contact form or posts a comment, we collect the user's name, phone number, and email address.

3. Purpose of Use

We use the personal information collected from users within the scope of the following purposes:

  • To inform users by email about new features, updates, and campaigns for services they use
  • To contact users as necessary, such as for service maintenance
  • To respond to comments and inquiries from users
  • To identify users who have violated our terms of service or otherwise used our services for unlawful or improper purposes, and to decline further use by such users
  • To bill users subscribed to paid plans
  • In our automated analytics software business, we may analyze collected browsing and purchase history to inform users about new products and services suited to them. We may score the results and provide such scores to third parties.

The purposes of use of personal information may be changed only where the change is reasonably related to the original purpose. When a change is made, we will notify users of the new purpose or make it public by a method designated by the Company.

4. Measures for the Safe Management of Personal Information

We strive to keep personal information accurate and up-to-date, and conduct training for all employees and officers to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, leakage, loss, and damage. We have also established personal-information protection rules and conduct periodic inspections of on-site management.

5. Joint Use of Personal Information

We conduct joint use of personal information as follows:

  • Responsible party for personal-information management: Yui Hayashi, a.s.ist Inc.
  • Purpose of joint use: Same as the "Purpose of Use" above.
  • Items jointly used: Name, address, phone number, and email address
  • Scope of joint users: Companies comprising our corporate group

6. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Except in the following cases, we will not provide personal information to third parties without the user's consent:

  • When required by law
  • When necessary to protect human life, body, or property, and obtaining the user's consent is difficult
  • When particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children, and obtaining the user's consent is difficult
  • When cooperation with a national agency, local government, or their delegate is needed to execute duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the user's consent may hinder such execution
  • When the following matters have been notified or publicly announced to the individual in advance and the Company has notified the Personal Information Protection Commission:
    1. That provision to third parties is included in the purpose of use
    2. The items of personal information to be provided
    3. The method of provision
    4. That provision to third parties will be stopped upon the individual's request
    5. The method for accepting the individual's request

7. Handling of Anonymously Processed Information

When we create anonymously processed information (personal information that has been processed so that a specific individual cannot be identified and that cannot be restored), we will:

  • Process it properly in accordance with legally defined standards
  • Take safety management measures in accordance with legally defined standards
  • Disclose the items of personal information contained in the anonymously processed information
  • Not cross-reference with other information to identify individuals from the original personal information

8. Disclosure and Correction of Personal Information

Upon request by the individual for disclosure of personal information, we will disclose it to the individual without delay. To request notification of the purpose of use, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, or suspension of provision to third parties, please follow the procedure below.

  • One copy of an ID document with photo (driver's license, Individual Number Card, residence card, special permanent resident certificate, passport, etc.)
