Dispensing, extraction and sample handling, automated with robots
We automate laboratory operations — liquid dispensing, powder dispensing, supernatant extraction and sample handling — with collaborative robots and instrument control. Your existing instruments can be used as they are. Measured values flow straight into analysis, so “measure → analyse → decide the next condition” can be built as a single system.
Operations we can automate
These setups are running in our own lab in Kashiwa-no-ha. The videos are recordings of the actual hardware in operation.
Liquid dispensing
The robot aspirates from a vessel and dispenses into the specified wells in order. What goes where, and how much, is specified in software and becomes the record.
Powder dispensing
Reading an off-the-shelf analytical balance in real time, the system slows the feed rate as it approaches the target weight. No more overshooting and starting again.
Supernatant extraction
AI detects the interface between supernatant and sediment from a camera image, and draws off only the supernatant without disturbing the sediment. No depth setting required.
Sample handling & automated measurement
From picking a sample out of the rack to loading it into the instrument and returning it when done. Triggering the measurement and receiving the result are handled on the control side.
What sets us apart
End-to-end automation
We do not stop at measuring, mixing and moving. The data acquired flows straight into analysis, the next condition is decided, and the result returns to the instrument. We design a single closed system, not a set of disconnected automated steps.
Built around your process
We do not sell a fixed package. We ask about your instrument models, the form of your samples and the criteria you judge by, then build only what is needed. You can start from a single step — weighing alone, or sample exchange alone.
Secure data handling
The control software runs on your own PC. Experimental data never leaves your organisation. We have no need to hold your in-development recipes or measured values.
How we work
01 Initial discussion
We ask which operation you want automated, your instrument models, and how many samples you run per day.
02 Scoping the step
We identify the step where manual work is the bottleneck and decide the scope to automate.
03 PoC
We run it on real samples and measure reproducibility and cycle time.
04 Deployment & extension
We install on site and, where useful, connect it to the analysis and experimental-design side.
* The systems shown are proof-of-concept demonstrations. Specific configurations and specifications are discussed individually.
Tell us about the experiment you want automated
We will ask about the target operation, the instruments you have and your sample throughput, then propose where to start.
- Unattended weighing, dispensing and sample exchange
- Control systems built around your existing instruments
- PoCs that connect automatically acquired data to analysis and experimental design
